SMS Open House

October 29th, 2015, by admin
Our School of Media Sciences Open House events at RIT provide a special opportunity to present the goals of our Media Arts and Technology B.S. degree program to prospective students.
Our focus is on helping students understand what academic possibilities are available to them that will put them on a path toward rewarding career path upon graduation.
At each Open House event we provide a detailed explanation of our the program’s core requirement courses that each student completes before entering his or her chosen specialization elective track(s).
Recently, Professor Michael Riordan and I worked together to organize the program’s specialization electives to help students build a path toward their chosen career goals. These tracks include a focus in Packaging Media, Advertising/Promotion Media, Publishing Media, and Innovative Applications. These tracks were developed based on career opportunities that exist for our students in co-op programs and entry level jobs upon graduation. A selected list of SMS alumni, job titles, and companies are presented at each open house.
In addition, Prof. Riordan provides a detailed tour of the School of Media Sciences facilities, including, our state-of-the-art Capture, Process, Transform, Connect, Impact, and Next Print lab facilities.
